Teen Photo Session/Newport News, VA/ Downtown Newport News

This handsome boy in this teen photo session belongs to me! I have started a tradition of taking each of my three boys separately for a day of yearly photos followed by the treat of their choice (a nice little incentive 🙂 ) It has allowed me to watch them grow through photos and capture each of their individual personalities in a way annual school photos simply cannot.

Carter is a month away from becoming a full fledged teenager. My mama mind can hardly grasp this reality. Just today, we watched some short clips of home movies, and couldn’t believe how his voice has deepened and how much he has changed in such a short time. These years really do go by so quickly. Freezing these short seasons in your children’s lives is the reason milestone photos are so important.

Carter started middle school this year. Obviously, school has not been what he had expected for a new school year in a new school. He has recently returned to school in person on the hybrid schedule, and is adjusting to life’s new normal. His start to middle school will not likely be a time in life he will forget. I am so blessed he has always been such a great student. He is quite self-motivated and strives to do his best. However, much like the rest of the world, the lack of normal social activities have been a difficult transition. I am so proud of you Carter and all of your hard work!

I generally update the photos around my home regularly to reflect the young men my sons are becoming. I’m so thankful for the gift of photography, and so many sweet memories. I look forward to being able to share their memories with their own family’s one day.

My dear Carter,

I love you more than you can ever imagine. I am so very proud of who you are. I have learned a lot from you in your short life. You are so patient, kind, and supportive of others. You are an amazing son, brother and friend. You are going to do incredible things in your life. Follow the path God sets before you. He will always show you the right way. Thank you for being you!

Love you always,

Mom XO
